副總統候選人辯論會昨（26）日登場，國民黨候選人王如玄訴求同理心，自述出身勞工家庭，讓她永遠都從弱勢者角度思考，質疑綠營造成教改失敗；民進黨候選人陳建仁則用「換柱風波」反問王如玄「心安嗎？」，並主打學術牌，承諾未來將在公衛、生技等領域協助執政團隊。
2016大選唯一一場副總統候選人辯論會中，王如玄首先為她購買軍宅引起的風波致歉。她表示，眷村改建宅對很多人是安身立命之所，被用做投資理財「我覺得我很抱歉，要誠摯地跟他們說一聲對不起」，並深深一鞠躬。
道歉後王如玄炮火全開，交叉詰問時指出，中研院前院長李遠哲推動教改有誤，若不是錯誤政策，根本不需浪費100億元大學退場基金。陳建仁回應，教改是國民黨執政時提出，政策若未在教育部落實，白皮書當然會落空，未來頂尖大學應繼續從事研發，其他大學則提供職場訓練。
陳建仁接著反問王如玄，對於立法院副院長洪秀柱被「違反黨內民主機制」換下，「身為婦權工作者能心安嗎？」王如玄羅列過去她參加婦女運動、民法基礎篇、性侵害防治法、家暴法等制定，反嗆「蔡英文在民間時，有協助過性侵害、家暴被害者者嗎？」
民國黨副總統候選人徐欣瑩則一再重申，這次大選除了要選擇政策執行力，親民黨總統候選人宋楚瑜在兩岸關係上，最能代表台灣跟大陸國家領導人習近平對等尊嚴談判。她還左打藍、右諷綠，質疑有的政黨擁有龐大黨產，可給候選人巨額選舉經費，「為何不拿來幫助青年創業」；另有些候選人名下擁有不少房地產，卻要拿升斗小民的捐款。
總結時，王如玄以感性訴求，強調她是普通人，不太在乎外表，在意是否能拉需要幫助的人一把，她在藍綠執政時均有官職，沒有政治顏色，「我沒有時間沮喪，有許多人需要我的援助。」
